Based on the same modern “Teamgeist” design as the white away shirt, the 2006/07 Auswärtstrikot would come in a stylish looking burgundy with white/silver trim. While an all-burgundy shirt would be a completely new look for FC Bayern, the colour had been used before on the dark silver design worn during 1999/2000.
The detail on this shirt is very simple, with everything in white/silver. Three white stripes run down the shoulder matching the white streamlined collar, and the Adidas logo machine-stitched in white/silver thread is positioned just below the round neck. The body of the burgundy shirt has a very fine vertical pinstripe detail.
The simplicity of the design sees the FC Bayern München club crest and three championship stars all in white/silver thread, with the T-Com logo in white screen-printed across the chest.
More minor details include the “Climacool” label and “Teamgeist” security hologram on the bottom of the front, and the stylised “Teamgeist” logo positioned on the lower portion of the left sleeve stitched in white/silver and gold thread.
Being designed for European competition there is no “Bayern München” on the plain back, but the sleeves carry the UEFA Champions’ League “ball” logo patch and the blue oval patch marking FC Bayern’s (at the time) four victories in the competition.
