The design of the 2004/05 red and white home shirt would be exactly the same as the previous season’s, but with a couple of small changes. From 2004, all clubs participating in the Bundesliga would adopt the a “star” system similar to that used in Italy to represent league championship wins.
In Germany, the system would work as follows: one Bundesliga championship would be represented by one star above the club crest, while five titles would earn a second star. Ten titles would be represented by a third star, and with their then seventeen titles FC Bayern would be entitled to wear three stars.
The main sponsor’s logo would also change slightly, with the new version reading “T-Com” – the name of the parent company – instead of T-Mobile.
This shirt is a customised version purchased from the FC Bayern club shop, with the name and squad number thirteen of midfield playmaker Michael Ballack and the updated special Bundesliga patch ironed onto the right sleeve.
