With a design similar to the 2002/04 away shirt, this simple yet striking dark red Trikot would be used during Bayern’s European matches. The “Climalite” construction would include the two mesh panels at the side, and there would be two colours used for the trim – navy blue for the V-neck and cuffs, and white for the three famous Adidas stripes running down the shoulders.
Both the Adidas logo on the chest and the new reworked club crest are both stitched in fine thread – the logo in white – while the new T-Mobile sponsor logo is screen printed on the shirt, also in white. Arguably one of the cleanest recent designs, the shirt is both simple and stylish.
Like all of the shirts designed for use during European competition there is no club name on the back, but on the sleeves are the two special UEFA Champions’ League patches, the white and black ball and the blue oval patch marking the club’s four victories in the competition – the latest of which would come in the 2000/01 season against Valencia CF in Milan’s San Siro.
