The 1995/97 home shirt contains a lot more blue, with a design composed of red and blue vertical stripes. White completely different from the more conservative FC Bayern shirts of the mid to late 1970s and 1980s, this more colourful design was not actually brand new in that it would take its cues from the shirt worn by the team during the late 1960s and early 1970s – slightly wider red and blue stripes that looked a little like Barcelona.
In line with what would be the predominant football shirt fashion during the mid-1990s this shirt has a stylised white button-up collar with blue and red trim, with most of the additional detailing in white such as the three shoulder stripes, stitched Adidas logo, and embossed Opel logo. The small club crest on the right of the chest is stitched in fine thread.
On the back of the shirt – also embossed – is the legend “FC Bayern München”.
